What is Career Education?
Career education at Kern County high schools teaches your child skills related to a specific career. And it gives them the opportunity to possibly graduate with some free college credit. You may have also heard it called career and technical education (CTE). Learning takes place in the classroom, and through internships or job shadowing. The real-world skills they learn will help prepare them for the next step, whether they plan to attend a certificate program, a 2-year community college, or 4-year college.
