College & University Planning
- Go back to the California CareerZone.
- Find your identified career goal.
- Find the “How to pursue this” section.
- Click on “View Education & Training” to see majors that lead to that career.
- Visit those school websites and research what classes and training you would complete in that program.
- If you’re interested, learn how to apply.
High School Planning
- Review which CTE Pathway course you can take in high school to begin training for your chosen career goal.
- Go back to the CTE Sectors & Pathways website.
- Go to the CTE Pathway that matches your career goal.
- Find schools where that CTE Pathway is offered.
- Visit the school websites and research what classes and training you would complete in that program.
- Prepare any questions you have and ask your school counselor for more information.
Note: If your high school doesn’t offer the program you want, ask your counselor how you can still get that career training through other resources.
Elementary & Middle School Planning
- Do well in all your classes. Build strong language, math, and research skills.
- Build professional career skills and habits: communication, critical thinking, technical skills, and physical skills.
